Our one-page comics dive into the eerie, nostalgic, and sometimes bizarre world of forgotten tapes and lost recordings. Whether it’s a nostalgic home video, a cursed tape that reveals something sinister, or a long-lost film that shouldn’t exist, these stories explore the strange and unsettling surprises hidden in analog static. From retro horror to glitchy sci-fi, each tale captures the magic — and menace — of uncovering something the world was meant to forget.

Story, Art, and Letters by Jonathan Chiotis

Elijah Joseph is the creator behind Heyy Comics. His journey began with comedy and magic, but storytelling stole the show. Now, he crafts entertaining comics, including Wand for Hire, a Webtoons Staff Pick nearing 1K subscribers. Join him as he explores the art of comics!

Jada J. is a recent graduate from Sam Houston State University. In 2024, they obtained a BFA in Studio Art during which they rediscovered their lost love of creating comics. Since then, they have created a handful of mini comics and zines about their characters. When not drawing comics, you can find them vending at markets, drawing unconventional fanart, or listening to metal music a bit too loud.
More of their work and a link to their shop can be found at https://linktr.ee/jadajdoodles

Christian De Matteo is a writer and college professor, founder of Tellworthy.com and co-founder of FugitivePoems.com with artist-extraordinaire James Lines. He loves all forms of art and entertainment, enjoys long walks on the beach and other less sandy locations, and is fatally allergic to fluffy cats (in case you wanted to get rid of him). He can be found pontificating/dad-joking on Twitter: @CDMetc and @FugitivePoems. He cannot draw. Like at all.

Ryan always enjoyed reading comics and copying the images, from Beano to the Real Ghostbusters to the Punisher. He joined a charity art group a few years ago which really got him back in to putting pen to paper. Now he is here at The Comic Jam and is getting to produce some great comics with other creatives.

Doug Wood is a disabled writer. He has written titles like UltraMax and Leap M as well as published the mega anthology Big Hype

Jonathan Chiotis is a writer of short stories and poems. He authored St. Anthony’s Fire in 2007 but since then has followed his passion for creating comic books. Doing the art, writing, and lettering for several mini comics with inept ability. Currently working on character creation with a focus on ultraviolent action, cinematic dialog, and the supernatural. He attended two semesters of art school, evidence which is undetectable in any of his works.

Phillip Butehorn is a husband, father, and suburban horror writer. In 2020, he had comic shorts published in several anthologies: Heroes Needs Masks, Zombies: We’re Humans Too Vol 2, Housebound, and Nightmare Theater. In 2021, Phil plans on owning the anthology comic market. Including the Neverland Anthology, Phil will have stories in Monster Mashup Vol 2, Fletcher Cross, and Not So Fair Tales anthologies. https://twitter.com/theilluminerdi/

Jack Van Thomme illustrates comics and pitches in when he can. You can see the things he likes to draw and read the things he likes to talk about on Twitter and Instagram @Real_JackVT https://www.instagram.com/real_jackvt/
